so about 10 days ago my s10 froze so i did a reset but that ended up in a boot loop and after a while it showed me a black screen with a barcode on the bottom and at the top it said uh load fail so i brought it to the store where i bought i becouse there was no samsung store near me and they sent it over to sasmung a week later i get a message that they couldnt fix my phone and that the repair costed more than the phone (there was a little crack in the screen but the phone worked fine with it for 5 months) and they phone is only one year old im going to wait to pick it up and im gonna see if they even did anything becouse for the screen to turn on you have to plug it in  and wait a min and it will turn on. those dumb technicians probably saw the crack in the screen and it didnt turn on so they probably just said its unrepairable and i also got a price for the non repair it is 55 euros for a not fixed phone

I use to work at a carphone warehouse phone shop, the reason they want to charge you is due to the crack in the screen as it has voided the warranty on it, they wouldn't have opened it up or anything as of risk to further damage they would then be liable for fixing for free.

yeah Shazoo101 is right. it's the same with other manufacturers... if this was a Apple phone or Huawei etc. this would be covered under a damage insurance but there would be a excess to pay.
