Samsuung A5 2017 knocking every minute once

I have an A5 and it has worked flawlessly until recently. I let it do an upgrade and regularly do updates. My phone from nowhere has picked up a really annoying knock sound effect that plays once every minute of the cotton picking day and night. Vol on noise vol off vibrate.

Does anyone please no how to kill the noise before I smash the phone to bits.

Have you downloaded any apps recently that may have introduced this ?

Try putting the phone into safe mode which disables all your downloaded apps and leaves the stock ones alone. 

My suggestion would be to create your back ups and factory reset if you cannot see anything in its alarm / reminder apps / settings that maybe causing this.
