The camera app on my S8 does not geo-tag my pictures correctly.
I have installed "Open Camera" which does a better job -and to do some debugging.
Example:
On a given position I took 2 photos, one with "Open Camera" and one with "Camera". The area is a suburb with plenty of streets and no tall buildings. I had just travelled about 7 km on bike.
I checked the geotags in "Gallery".
So, I do not have a problem with the gps in the phone since Open Camera gets it right. Other GPS-apps also works fine.
I can edit the photo immediately - erase the position and setting the new one by homing in on current position. I then get the (correct) position as coordinates - so again - GPS works.
After some time - have not figured out the trigger - the position sometimes gets right.
It MIGHT be a matter of not being able to look up a street address - then using the last good one...
I am pretty sure the problem has come with the latest upgrade of either Android or the Camera app - most inclined to Android.

Same problem with Samsung Camera App. I noticed that it gives me wrong position if I put the phone in Airplane mode and then, when I turn airplane mode off, all new pictures will have the last position registered before I put my phone in airplane mode, no matter how many time/days I did that. Reboot will fix Geo Tag.

Exactly my situation.
Although it seems that the app tend to use last registered even without having been in airplane mode.
And booting before taking a picture is a bit tough :smileyvery-happy:
New to Samsung - does not look like the moderator show any interest - unfortunately.
Don't know how to file an error report.

Hi all.
You'll be able to submit an error report through the Samsung Members app on your S8. Open the Members app > Select Support > Send Feedback > Error Reports > Application > Tick Send System Log Data and attach a description of the problem.

Hi AntS
Thanks a lot for the advice!
Also have reported by phone to my country support - but I'll sure do this.
Upload of example photos is a good thing here, I think.
