Samsung S7 Edge - Stuck in a boot-loop.

Hi all!

My Samsung S7 Edge is stuck in a bootloop. It previously would get to various stages in the reboot cycle but this most recent occurence of the device crashing is the worst yet.

The device is stuck turning itself on and off. I have tried restarting in 'Safe Mode' but the phone will not respond to the actions and continues in the rebooting/crashing/rebooting cycle. The reboot never gets beyond the first Samsung welcome page you get when you normally turn the phone on.

I have tried to access the menu that gives you the options to 'reboot' and 'clear cache' etc but i get a 'No Command' screen with a dead android and an exclammation mark. I have tried the various button combinations to try and get past this screen but nothing works.

The phone does not power off.

My phone is not seen by my computer when it is connected but it does light up my charger, indicating i hope that it is responding to a charge, though leaving it on charge makes the device way too hot.

The only other menu is the one to install custom OS but i don't want to do that so i leave that screen alone! Just select the restart option.

This problem has happened before but this most recent epidsode has made my phone feel too hot for comfort, irritatingly unresponsive and just plain useless. It has been in a bootloop now for over eight hours.

Hoping i can find some help from the wider samsung community!

Many thanks

Hi Faizan, tried all of that and every other option, in the end I claimed for a new replacement on my bank insurance. Even Samsung couldn't help me.

That's download mode, press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons until your phone restarts to exit.

If it still fails to boot up normally, then try popping your phone into Recovery Mode.

To do this, when your phone is turned off, press and hold the Power, Home and Volume UP.

Then once the options pop up in the left hand corner, use the volume buttons to scroll to 'Reboot System Now', and use the power button to select.

Hi evrybody! I had the same symptoms (continuous reboot into first Samsung boot screen). Influencing the boot with hot keys to go to maintenance or secure mode did not work. Then I thought: hmm, maybe it's a mechanical problem! I knocked the phone firmly with the left side to the palm of my hand and then with the right side. After that it was booting normally again. I guess the volume down button was stuck and the mechanical shock released it again

Hi! I'm trying everything that everyone mentioned here but still no use, I'm with a refurbished phone that is just a week old. I'm trying to hard reset but no use (I think you have to drain the battery completely and charge it then turn it on using V-up + Home + Power button? But somehow my phone always boots up during charging and looping "Recovery booting..." so I can't shut it off. I can enter the green screen reguardless, but that doesn't help much.

Hi baconbowl, that really sucks. Can you tell us what happens when you hit

Power + Vol Down + Home buttons ? Do you get to the boot menu? If you do,what option do you choose?

Hi Michelelib, I think yesterday when I tried that combination it got to the green screen warning about downloading a custome OS. Today the phone doesn't turn on anymore and needs to be plugged in to get to the boot loops, without the charge it just stays dead.
