On my Samsung J3 I am trying to put shortcuts to specific webpages
First I hit "Internet" on the home page
Then load the webpage I want
Next hit the three horizontal bars bottom right of page
Then select "Add to " and "home page.
I do get the right icon on thre home page but it doesn't work. I hit it and get a clicking noise but nothing happens. Please help and old man too embarrassed to ask my 10 year old grandson.

Hi @Frankled After selecting Add to Home Screen , user needs to Select Add on Samsung Internet and the Name Field is editable. Slightly shorter if using chrome- see detail here https://www.maxdalton.how/tutorial/how-to-add-website-to-android-home-screen
On Home screen just "tap" the icon and it should work ok. Personally do not really use a lot of Internet shortcuts, Bookmarks on the Internet Browser are are fine for me. You can add page to Bookmarks on the same screen or can do it from the Browser. See more here https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/using-the-samsung-internet-app/
I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.
