Hi,

I'm having trouble with my Samsung Galaxy S8+. I have bought an official flip case for it but the phone won't recognise it.

I've traced the problem to a sensor that is stuck on.

I've entered the *#0*# test screen and run the Hall IC test. The top right sensor comes on even if there isn't a magnet present. The bottom left sensor is working fine.

Does anyone know if there is a way of resetting the sensor, or if there is a way to turn it off and on again?

Hope there is someone out there who knows how to do this. Doing my head in!!!!!

As far as I'm aware there isn't a native way within the phone's settings to tweak the sensors @Techfrustration

If a hard reset after backing up and removing any relevant sd card does not help then I'd consider getting it swapped out under any relevant Cooling Off Period.

If your past that period then a Samsung Experience Store or Samsung Service Centre can take a look.

I wish you all the best with this.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
