How do I set 'My phone number' in settings? It is currently blank. I haved it set in my profile in contacts and have turned the phone off and on, but it is still blank.

The phone draws the number from your Sim Card as far as I'm aware.
Did you perhaps have a blank sim card and sim swapped your number to it or start off with a temporary number due to porting in to another mobile network.

I upgrade the handset a while back, but just transferred the sim.
I'm not sure whether I need the 'My phone number' to be set anyway - it's just that when I text from my mobile to my landline it comes through as a voicemail rather than text, so I was checking my phone for any possible cause there.
Any idea what relevance the 'My phone number' has apart from info?

When you text does it show as your name or number to the recipient?
To be honest mine has always been there as I haven't used a temporary mobile number while porting into a new network or needed to sim swap.

Isn't 'name or number' on the recipient down to my number being in THEIR contacts' list rather than any setting per se on my phone (other than withold number if there is such a thing)? I'm recognised as 'me' ok on my kids mobiles, but they have 'me' in their contacts list. AFAIK when I text it doesn't come up as 'unrecognised' sender to them.
