Samsung Galaxy j5 2016 duos not receiving updates

Hi.
I've a j5 2016 duos (SM-j510FN). This model has it's security patch updated on october.
Passed from firmware J510FNXXU2AQG3 to J510FNXXS2AQI4.

Well, I never received this update, not via OTA nor via KIES (and Smart Switch).
With Nougat coming soon, I'm starting worry my phone actually has a problem.
Every other person I know (even from the internet) with my italian firmware has the latest update, but I don't.

Do I have to manually install updates with Odin from now on?
What should I do? (PS: already did factory reset)

Thanks

Elia

Your phone will prompt you when an update is ready to download or you can manually search if an update is ready from the Software Update Section of the phone.

Firmware updates are sent out in batches  / waves which is probably why others have received theirs already.

Also to note if a phone has been supplied by a Network then the Network can slightly delay its push out because they usually test the firmware to ensure it does not clash with branded phones and the Networks features.

Performing a Factory Reset would not speed things up.

A person can decide to put a Custom Rom on the phone but this can in some cases cause stability issues with the phone.

A site called xdadevelopers holds some info on this.

If your still concerned an issue may be with your phone then a Samsung Experience Store or Samsung Service Centre location can run a diagnostic on the phone.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Thanks for your answer.

I actually know how update are delivered, but here we are talking 3 months delay.
I don't think there's still a risk to overload servers for this update.
Never happend since Android Gingerbread that and update took more than one month to come to any devices I ever had.

By the way, no network carrier, I've the ITV firmware.

And I wasn't talking custom firmware, I was talking official firmware flashed, 3 months to me is unacceptable for a security patch.

Sorry to bother you, and thanks for your time.

Have a nice day,

Elia
