Samsung cloud backup fail

My data was backed up on my S6 which I lost but only part of the data has synced to my new S8, I am missing a lot of precious photos? What have I done wrong?

I found that unless you have done a manual sync the auto back-up doesn't always save everything. I suppose they are still ironing out the faults as we are still in the early days of samsung cloud. Have you tried checking for a google photos back-up by signing into the same gmail you used on your s6?

I checked my Google account but again it's only saved certain stuff and only up to July of last Year, then there's  gap, I am devastated 😞

This happened to me in the past.

I now also use Dropbox and have set for every picture I take to always upload a copy there too.
