Other SmartphonesAfter recent firmware update my fast charging starts fine yet suddenly switches off.
I have tried reset, safe mode, checking for debris is phone and charger, alternate samsung cable alternate samsung charger plug etc etc.
I also have an S8 plus (work phone) which does exactly the same after the firmware update came down.
So every permutation of cable and leads (all genuine kit) and two different handsets. Prior to update both fast charged perfectly.
Can I roll back the firmware at all as this is a royal pain...samsung what are you doing!

Other SmartphonesYou can back up and factory reset but this takes the phone to the last firmware update.
Your unable to roll back.
Putting a Custom Romon the phone is an option but I strongly suggest you learn about the pro's and con's of doing this.
The site xdadevelopers is a good starting point.
But before you do that perhaps a Samsung Service Centre can run a diagnostic on the phone as it might not be the firmware at issue.
Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²² Ultra 256Gb in Phantom Black.
The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Other SmartphonesThanks 'Band of Brothers'.
So no roll back or restore point in Android...poor show I say.
Not really into rooting and due to permutations of chargers and leads and having identical issues with my work S8+ after the firmware it all points to that as the issue
A quick Google and there are numerous simimar reports.

Other SmartphonesJust an update after some tests on both my S8 and my S8+ using all permutations of chargers and leads both phones still do not fast charge.
As my earlier posts it has happenened after both handsets auto updated firmware.
Attached images show how the charging time remaining seems to vary at will. For clarity the attached are from my S8 using the same charger and lead. You can see from the clock on the image just how quickly this wildly varies. Both phones exhibit the same behaviours.
Do any Samsung staff read these posts? I have been with samsung constantly since my S3 and also have chosen Samsung for my work handsets S4 5 7 and now 8+ and am at my wits end with this.

Other SmartphonesWell an update with some positive news, a solution and a healthy dose of confusion with a side of humble pie....
Ordered a new lead and BOOM rapid charging restored on both phones! Randomly it seems both leads must have been faulty despite one being used totally differently and being 8 months younger...weird as one is left plugged on at work constantly and the other coiled up and put on a drawer at home each night.
All I can say is if you do have fast charging issues dont test using another old lead but buy a new one!
Faith on samsung restored.
