Hey @Uday47 and @Conor123456.

You can try a camera test on your phone to see if there is an issue with the hardware or the software.

Let’s try this, go over to your dial pad and type in *#0*#, this will bring up a number of tests. Select Mega Cam. Align your phone and tap the ‘capture’ icon to take a photo. Verify that the flash works during this as well. Review the photo and let me know if the camera works fine here.

Thanks for letting me know, @Uday47.

I'd advise popping into a Service Location to have this looked at by an engineer.

You can find your nearest HERE, alternatively you can contact Samsung Support HERE to arrange for a Postal Inspection Repair.

I recently bought a new Samsung S8 a week back. 2 days back my front camera focus is not working. The pictures i click from front camera is very blur. It does not focus on any object.

Kindly help to resovle this issue.  A week into a new phone and the camera is not working.

Hello

I did what u said the rear camera is working perfectly alright. I am having issues with the front camera. I did the Front CAM test and the focus is still out of place. My front camera picture or selfie is quite blur.

Hi, I am facing the same problem with my S8's front facing camera. Tried that test and got a "AF Failure" message. Did you manage to solve this issue?

I have the same problem. I have been using my new phone for 2 days and yesterday it was working fine.

I have the same problem and this solution has made no difference. Do you have any other ideas?

Thanks

Hi @Storagon

It sounds like it would be a good idea to visit a nearby Service Centre to get this sorted out, as we don't want you shaking the phone to use the camera. You can find a Service Centre here

If you can't find one near you, reach out to our Support Team. They'll be able to discuss the next steps to follow.

Thanks,

LiamH

It still happens periodically but a gentle shake sorts it out. Would be odd to visit one of your service centres where I would be met with lots of shrugging shoulders, generally bored looks and some rolling of the eyes if I persisted. I got all of those from my local Vodafone shop in the UK. All followed by the.....we'll send it away. Prefer the odd shake of the phone. Might be good if you sorted out the software issue though...........

Sorry but this absolutely baffled me. Was almost ready to go to an engineer, tried everything. Shake the device! Thanks so much, this is insane that it worked 😂😂

DIANA YESSS, after restarting and restting basically my whole phone, honestly sad Samsung tbh I paid 340$ to get my screen fixed recently and from the comments above I thought I would have to send it away again, just like optus and I guess everywhere these days so scammy, dont wqste your money with sending off SHAKING THE PHONE WAS ALL THAT WAS NEEDED FOR THIS TO FIX

None of Samsungs suggestions ever worked. This 'shaky' solution works for me. Samsung needs to give us an explanation.

My issue served to be caused by my LED case interfering with the camera. Now that I have swapped to a clearview case the focus issue has gone. Before this I had to shake the camera to focus.
