I'm having trouble with my Galaxy S7 not syncing media audio to my Ford Fiesta. I've tried all the fixes I've found on the internet but nothing works. I'm getting really irritated and it's putting me off getting another Samsung mobile if it can't perform a perfectly simple function.

What version of sync are you running? The latest version is 5.11. If it's under that number an upgrade should fix the problem, it worked for me. My Ford Everest 2016 was 5.7. it was working fine then stopped one day. A reset of the phone and sync system didn't fix it. I found an update on the US Ford site that was about 780mb, it took about 25 mins to install with the car running. I registered an F150 vin I found that had sync 1, then it allowed me to download an update. Even though it said the update was 5.8 it upgraded to 5.11. Hope this helps.

Has your car dealership any advice on comparability etc @chrismet

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²³ Ultra 512Gb in Phantom Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

It was working fine on Thursday until I opened another app. I've been unable yo get it back since. It's an issue with the phone and it's driving me mad. It's the second time it's happened.

Which App ?

I'd be inclined to first clear the system cache by turning off the phone and then via a set series of button pressess that takes you into the phone file system clear the cache.

And if no resolution back up and factory reset.

Is there anyone from Samsung who can tell people how to fix this issue? I can't believe such a big company can't sort this out. It's a joke.

Hi @chrismet.

Which app did you open just before this started?

Are you getting any error messages on the phone or car's system when you're trying to connect or sync? If so, what do they say?

Is the issue just happening with the car's system or does it happen when connecting the phone similarly to other devices too? (if you're able to, might be worth testing another device with the car to eliminate the car's system as the cause.)

And apart from the factory reset, can you tell us more info about what other fixes you've tried so far?

I opened up a Spider Solitaire app, it was playing music fine but stopped as soon as I opened up the app.

I paired my phone to some Beats speakers and there were no issues. When I try and pair to my car I keep getting a message saying "Phone disconnected" though I can still use phone audio.

I have tried factory reset, clearing the cache, I have tried deleting the Spider Solitaire app. In the car I have deleted Samsung and re-paired it and nothing works.

I find it astonishing that this issue hasn't been sorted out by Samsung, I'm not the only one who has had issues with this. For a supposedly big company I think it's bloody appalling.

I also think that the standard response of "Go and see your car manufacturer" is ridiculous. Do you really think I have the time to make an appointment and potentially wait around for hours while they take a look? If Samsung can't be bothered to fix this issue then as soon as my contract is up I won't be bothered to get a Samsung phone again.

Im having the same issue. Wont play any media on my car stereo, will connect for calls perfectly but wont play media and when I go into settings it won't let me turn on media audio (see image below). I have tried clearing the cache etc but nothing. Hard to believe a phone cannot connect via bluetooth. Its a joke!Screenshot_20180220-140036.png
