I use my Google Maps daily and have the outline "burnt" into the phone. Even whilst I'm writing this I can see the outline on the borders. I have a contract phone would this be covered in warranty?

Samsung provide a 24 month manufacturing warranty @Butlpau4

I'm in the UK so here may be different to where you reside.

In the UK a person should approach the supplier of the phone in the first instance ie a mobile phone network operator if the phone was supplied as part of a pay monthly contract.

However I find that the manufacturers do tend to want to help.

Samsung have Samsung Service Centres.

So my advice is to have one or the other run a diagnostic / view the issue and they'll advise you on your options.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
