https://www.change.org/p/samsung-update-a5-a7-2017-to-android-pie
A5/A7 2017 were released with an outdated 6.0.1 marshmallow while other phones released at the same time were running nougat.
Samsung claims that it gives A series phones 2 major updates but this was not technically 2 major updates because they were released with an outdated os version an unfair update policy for the A5/A7 2017 users,we consider this cheating!
Phones that were released in the same time as A5/A7 2017 but they were running nougat
LG K10 (2017),LG K8 2017,Huawei P8 Lite (2017),Nokia 6,Honor 8 Lite,LG Aristo,Huawei Mate 9 Pro,OnePlus 3T, HTC U Ultra,Asus Zenfone 3s Max,ZTE Blade V8.

The above link includes a screenshot which shows the reply I got from samsung when I inquired about the new Android Pie update for Galaxy A5 2017. Hope this would be very important and it worth to be published!

That's a mechanical response. They are not going to provide an update, unless some miracles happen. Look at the notice of list eligible devices for the update : https://imgur.com/gallery/g9LHMyd

Well, if so I do not understand why Samsung has not updated it on the list of devices that are supposed to get the pie update?

Android 9 is using less ram and cpu power than Android 8.x, what is a fact, and there is also better battery life optimalisation than in Oreo, but it is true, that animations and graphic interface between different tasks in Android Pie is more difficult for the device than in Oreo. Personally I don't like Android 9 and One UI. I am not using A5 or A7 nowadays, but I have tested A5 and I have also been using galaxy s7 and I know, that all of mentioned devices can run Android 9 with no problems. However, if I was the owner of Galaxy A5 I wouldn't be angry about being kicked out of Android Pie update list. (written from my note 8 running Android 9, I'm sorry for my bad english)

Maybe they will yet early days! but J3 2017 i mean cmon, why does that get PIE??? A5/A3/A7 are mid range phones not cheap!!!!!! Batteries are still so good ! its easily got one more O/S Life left in it..............They should of come with Nougat so Oreo is really just 1 upgrade!!!!!! I feel they will do it just taking their time over newer models...........but they would easily run pie with specs!!!!!!!
