Other SmartphonesHello!
I had this problem a while already but kinda gave up searching information and trying stuff out.
Contacted someone from samsung on messenger but he didnt know it aswel.
So lets try again😁
A while ago i was just watching youtube and suddenly youtube crashed and closed.
Since then there has been a part of the screen just normal white and the other part has a red tint. (Look at photo, top part where the video was playing is normal, under its kinda redish.)
When i take a screenhot and send it to my laptop or friend its just normal.
So its just my screen.
Anyone any idea what this could be?
How can i fix this?
-Happy hollidays!

Other SmartphonesI've had the same issue with my S7edge and gave up on it as it was "time for an upgrade". I have a S9edge now and the exact same is starting to happen again. It's still light but I know it will get worse.
I'm not entirely buying the "burn in due to brightness" expalanation. If brightness was the issue the whole screen would be affected, not just the 2/3 bottom only (more or less). I wonder if the 2/3 limit matches the placement of the battery or some other internal component.
My S9 is still under warranty, but bringing the phone for multi day replacement is really a pain for me when my phone is used as 2 factor authentication device for so many things, including work 😞

Other SmartphonesSame issue here on my S8 Active. Its not burn in, it happened after the phone stuttered and crashed. No drops, no water. I have 2 months of warranty and I'm sending it back to samsung directly.
It must be a connector issue or a hardware defect for it to happen suddenly and be so consistent with so many. My phone has the pink bands and they are exactly like your picture above.

Other SmartphonesI'm having the same problem. I investigated the screen burnout issue thinking that there might be an app that I use a lot that has different colors in the top 1/3 of the screen. I realized that when watching youtube in portrait mode, the video lines up perfectly with the box. So I think that it is a burnout issue (and maybe a youtube addiction issue).

O.M.G. This is totally it for me!! Thanks for the revelation.
In my car, I have my phone on a holder in portait view, and in the mornings and evenings, I play youtube videos there during my commute to work. This are not videos I watch btw, but podcast-like channel I listen to like scishow. This is a 40mn per way, 1h30 per day, and I had never realized how the bottom section of youtube was so bright compared to the video panel.
As you discovered, the tint section matches perfectly with the youtube app layout.
I'll try to use ladscape setup more to lift the strain, but I think I'll also report it to youtube. If as a user I'm not scrolling up-down to read comments, it should be possible for the app could dim out or blackened the whole section.

Other SmartphonesI've recently notified that I have the same issue. I've got a less reddish strip on the top part of my screen. I think it doesn't have anything to do with youtube! Because it is not true in my case! I mean it's aligned with my youtube borders neither in portrait nor landscape modes.
The weirdest thing about my issue is that I can see a back arrow at the left corner of my screen. Right on that part of the screen which is less reddish. I can also recognize a three-vertical-point icon(like typical setting/more icon in Android devices) on the right corner of my screen!!! They are always there, regardless of any apps that would be opened or not. I can even totally see them when I'm on my home screen.
It's crazy!!!!!
