So a few weeks ago i updated to 8,0 and it started freezing my device so often that it once made the device unresponsive for a few days.
a few days ago, i got a 8. (something) update which worked fine for 3 days, until i opened youtube.
Since then the phone has gotten completely unresponsive since yesterday & the volume & power buttons no longer work.
i let it drain since yesterday & plugging it in now shows the charging screen, but it instantly freezes on the empty battery.
removing the cable lets the phone shut down after a minute or so of a frozen screen. Charging longer does not affect this. My phone is in mint condition with absolutely no fall or water damage. It still looks like a new phone after 2 years.
Anyway; is there anything i can do as a normal consumer to fix this? I'm in a bit of a situation so i'd rather fix it than having to pay for a new phone. As someone who has used samsung for over 10 years since my s4 i've been absolutely let down by software updates. s4 also bricked because of one.
any help will be appreciated. and keep into consideration the power button doesnt do anything anymore.
i fixed the unresponsive power button by plugging the phone into the charger while holding down the volume and home buttons.
This allowed me to get passed the frozen screen from an off state.
I got the device working after resetting it.
Good job guys at the software department not testing build stability more than 10 minutes.
touching anything after restarting freezes it and puts it back to the initial problem
after getting into safe mode 5 times with freezing, the screen is now black. The tab & back buttons are glowing but all buttons are unresponsive.
Where did you purchase it from, @HenryBman? If it's within the EU then you'd still be able to have it repaired in the UK.
Say "hello!" and Introduce Yourself, or virtually hangout in the Samsung Lounge
I bought it from a store called Panda in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.. So ill probably have to upgrade/replace the phone coz it's absolutely unusable..
