Other SmartphonesTwo days after my S8 plus was delivered from eBay I receive an email from Samsung asking me if I was pleased with my new smartphone. Since I didn't register this device anywhere I'm wondering how Samsung got my email address. I asked eBay if they provided it to Samsung and the reply was that they did not. Is there a hidden spy in my device that would send back my email address to Samsung or is there another explanation?

Other SmartphonesHi BandOfBrothers
>>Was the phone bought from a private individual ?<<
No, I bought it from a company and I asked this company if they provided my email address to Samsung and the answer was they did not.
>>Have you ever registered with Samsung to set up an account etc ?<<
Yes, I have a Samsung account opened when I bought a Samsung telly but my s8+ is not there.
>>Samsung wouldn't be aware you've bought an s8+ unless it was directly through them.<<
Ant still they are aware although I have not bought it through them.
>>As for any form of spy software / hardware I highly doubt it.<<
So there must be another explanation and I am still looking for it

Other SmartphonesHi
I'm wondering if the email was actually from Samsung ?
You could contact Samsung from their official website but I wouldn't from the unsolicitated email itself.
