Hi i hope someone can help me with this problem. Since i updated the last software update on my phone, my phone keeps restarting whenever i use the internet or even on apps that worked perfectly fine before that update. Is there anyway i can solve this problem as its getting rather annoying now. It is also happening on my daughters phone and she has the same model phone as me

Mine seem to be completely random. PUBG mobile seems to be the only app now that triggers the reboot. My guess: something to do with memory overflow when paying 3d games. Java garbage collector always has been a pain in the @SS, but the OS has to know how to deal with this without rebooting... J3 only has 2Gb of ram which isn't much for an android 8.0 (my oppinion).

My guess would be online games are causing it.  I play 5 different games, here's what i think is and is not causing my crashes:

- Sonic the hedgehog (3 games): no crashes. Internet not used by these titles.

 - Dragon ball z dokkan battle jp/Dragon ball legends: Crashes are frequent on loading. These titles require and are constantly using the internet. In the case of DBZDBJP, it sometimes crashes on the menu too. When these games are updating, however (And they do this a lot) there haven't been any crashes during the download.

As you said 2gb of RAM is totally insufficient. Most phones with average speed have 4gb. And the storage on these things is barely a quarter of of your average phone.

I do get crashes on internet and YouTube , just games if online. If it was the games themselves it would crash offline too. It's the update, not the ***** phone.

You're right. But, I don't use YouTube or any non-game online apps that use as much of the RAM as my games, so I couldn't verify that though.

I completely agree with you. I had this reboots with all sort of other (online) games too. Now i just have this one and it only happens when playing. Never experienced reboots when in facebook, instagram, spotify, youtube etc though

Don't replace your phone because I done just that and I am still having the same issues unless you're thinking of changing from a J3 completely.

Great to find this thread. I've got 2x j3s both restarting using apps and both started doing it 2 weeks ago so knew it was unlikely to be hardware or damage.

Overall Samsung very unhelpful- you think they would be reading this. Sent 1 phone off for repair and still doing same thing. Spoke to Samsung last night who advised to send error reports and don't waste time sending back for repair.

Did a live chat earlier who told me to contact 3rd party apps and tell them it was their fault!

Spoke to them again today and been told to send for repair again.

I feel they are just fobbing me off and hope I go away.

I understand there may be glitches and would have been happy with a notification from Samsung apologising for error and telling us they are working on it. But if they keep wasting my time I will be switching to other brand.

I am an application developer for IOS, Android. In the last couple of weeks we get a lot of reports from our users about our applications restarting their Galaxy J3 devices. We have done anything that we can think of to try and fix this issue from our end and unfortunately we didn't find a working solution. We tried to reduce the resources needed in the application, to disable notifications, to remove ads and so on.. Nothing worked. We hope someone from Samsung or Android aknowledges the issue so they no longer pass the fault on the developers.

If indeed we are doing something wrong, please someone enlighten us and provide us with a way to avoid this issue.

Thank you,

Adrian

Hi all. We don't have any indication on timescales just yet we're afraid. As soon as we hear something we'll let you know.

Same problem here. ChrisM as mod you are our voice towards customer services. Please ensure that we receive an ETA for the fix. Managing expectation and providing a solution in a timely manner is the only things that will keep most people with J3 fom switching to another vendor at this point.

Thank you in advance.

3 restarts on Candy Crush Saga so far today, one happened while I was using the timer at the same time. For some reason when the phone came back on my timer read 15 hours rather than the 15 minutes it had been set for!!! Please do something to fix this issue as it's been going on for several weeks now and I feel completely cheated by Samsung.
