So I bought a new samsung phone and it won't connect to the internet, even though it is connected to the WIFI.

I have searched the problem up and of course the only solution I could find was a "software update" (which never solves any issues, I do not understand why this is always the go to solution)

The problem with that is you need to create a google account to even do a software update which makes no sense in my opinion but hey.

Guess what? I cannot make a Google account without an internet connection, and I cannot connect to the internet, so therefore cannot do a software update. How am I meant to fix this?

Go to your tp-link page and create a custom dial-up setting here, using the exact same setting as shown in the image. Everything should be good.Untitled-1.jpg

All phones need to have a login account.   With Android its google, or Samsung, with iPhone its iTunes.

Amazing how long Samsung has had that bug.
You can be on vacation; everyone has wifi, and only our Samsung is dead with that question mark.
I used to have the same problem at work. Of course, Samsung will blame the router on Samsung. There is no internet.
just restarted my backup Galaxy phone and guess what? no wifi. nothing helps. impossible to connect. you have wifi and only my phone has a problem with the router. my laptop works fine. my friends here with phones, working fine. only galaxy speaks some prehistoric language so he cannot communicate with my router. sure... the router is the probelm

I found a solution that actually worked.

If Developer Mode isn’t already enabled:

  1. Go to Settings > About phone > Software information.
  2. Tap Build number 7 times until you see "Developer mode has been enabled."
  3. Return to Settings and scroll down to Developer options.
  4. Enable Wi-fi Non-persistent MAC Randomization.
  5. Enable wi-fi verbose logging
  6. Go to your wifi connection, forget connection and log back onto your wifi hotspot.

This worked for me. Hopefully it will work for your pos samsung as well. Thanks a lot for absolutely f*kall samsung. You have been of absolutely NO help at all.
