Back in the good ole days before the latest (24th April 2022) update, users could decide how they wanted their Recents cards organised.
You could have the cards set up like this:
Or like this:
This option was available - I believe - under the One UI Home app, or simply in Settings --> Display.
This option is no longer available after the latest update and I have confirmed this with Samsung Support. Now, you can only view the Recents cards as in the first image.
Why was it removed?
Who in their right mind thought "Hey you know guys, in the next release let's remove the Recents layout settings and force everybody to have one hard-coded layout!"?
What possible benefit did they think that would add??
Why even touch something that worked fine, and only enriched the experience? Didn't you have bugs to fix? Business requests to fulfill? Or perhaps some misguided product owner thought removing that option was the way forward?
Well, enough said, I will not be buying any Samsung products ever again.
