J5 2016 Battery Drain

Hi,

My wife  has had the J5 from October 2016 on contract with Tesco Mobile. I have carried out a few Software Updates for her but lately the battery is draining away very quickly.

Have googled ways to say battery..but all these fail..

With this phone on contract... can we or does Tesco need to bring it to the Samsung Shop for more investigations?

Hi,

Just investagated this more and found that an app named Extras,which is linked to the Tesco Mobile Contract, is using around 73% of battery...while the like of F/Book, Android Services are using 14/15%..There, I think lies the problem...Discount of £3/month on Contract for theses Ads to pop-up..Probably use more in electric to charge the phone..

Will still monitor to see if anything else is draining the battery fast.

Hi @Gerrymac.

 

Either one of those options should be fine (as long as Tesco use an approved Samsung Support/Service centre).

 

What troubleshooting steps have you tried already? And any idea what's eating most of the power up? Apps > Settings > Battery > Battery Usage.

Hi,

Thanks for the swift reply... Don,t really know.. She was in work this morning streaming music wirelessly and battery just drained..

She has other games on phone but their on auto-power save.

She has only noticed this within the last week or so.. I,ll monitor and see if I can find anything that is draining.

If not I,ll just bring it to the shop..it,s still in warranty.
