turn the device off.
Press volume button the the power button and keep both pressed. Then you should be booted into recovery. Use the wipe cache partition function and then reboot. Do NOT perform anything else.
If the problem is still there you will have to back up your data and then get back into recovery and perform the hard reset which will erase all data.
