I need to transfer all text messages from my old phone to my new one.  Old: Nokia Lumia 720 Windows Phone (OS 8?) to fabulous Samsung Galaxy 7 Edge.  Any tips?

I'm a new convert to the Android system having been an Apple man since time began.
I haven't left Apple and still own and use two Apple phones, but the S7 Edge is streets ahead of the iPhone 6 Plus and I like to have the best and latest mobile at my fingertips.

Question:
How can I transfer the text history from my iPhone 6 Plus to my Samsung Galaxy 7 Edge?

Presuming the S6 Edge Forum is similar to the S7 Edge (No S7 Edge Forum found)

I have tried the following without success:

SmartSwitch: Transferred contacts and calendar data, but not SMS.
Copy My Data: Transferred all photos but SMS transfer not an option.

Tried to transfer the Text History file from the iPhone to the S7 Edge whereby the file type was changed to .db but that didn't work either.

Is there a tried and tested way of achieving the transfer?

These suggestion are good for you to transfer messages , in case of accident , you'd better backup these data on your computer before you transferring , there are some things to pay attention to :

I can give you a solution.  I've made an app which helps you import your SMS messages from Windows Phone to Android. It is called 'Import SMS from Windows Phone'.

It is Free and has no limit for the messages which can be imported. It has no Ads.

Simply copy the .vmsg/.msg into your Android device and the app will search for all the backup files. You can select from which numbers you want to import your SMS messages or you can import them all at once.

This is a nice solution, I have ever use this phone transfer and follow this simple guide to transfer SMS from Samsung Galaxy S7 to Samsung Galaxy 9+ directly.
