Green line down the edge of screen

 Hi,

Just now and all of a sudden, a green line has appeared along the right hand edge of my s7 edge. Does anyone know how I can get rid of it? Not sure I can return a phone that I've had for 13 months...

When the always on display is on (when I press the power button to shut the screen off) the green line disappears, but when I wake the phone up again it appears again. Now it seems that the green line is flickering as well.

How do I get rid of this?!

Hi @kovsky

Sadly the same problem happened on my s7 edge.

You can try using the coloured test panels to see if that will shake the pixels back to working via launching your phone app and type in *#0*#

Choose the named coloured test panels and every few minutes switch between them.

If this does not help then in my case the issue was where the connection is between the screen and motherboard failed. As that is a hardware issue then the display needs replacing.

My local Samsung Service Location had replacement displays in stock so they replaced the display within a few days under the 2year Manufacturing Warranty.

Please be aware if your phone shows any visible signs of damage on the casing and or the water sensor in the SIM card slot is tripped they may refuse to carry out the work under the Manufacturing Warranty and thus charge.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

Hi you should have a 24 month manufacturing warranty that should be still valid.

Is there any chance you can take a screen shot and post it up

You can also try this  Go to phone and dial *#0*# and then adjust the green red and blue to see if that clears it up

I have the same problem in my Samsung 7 Edge. Yes i did the *#0*#. And i found that when i click the blue and red colour the green line disappear but when i click the green colour the green line come back. You know what! before this it shows only one line but yesterday another green line come out. When i charging the phone either wirelessly or cable weather the phone is turn off the green line come out which is similar to the green colour of the battery level. I remember all this happen because the phone sometime gaining heat at the back of the phone especially at the back/side where the green line appeared.

Hi.

As I mentioned in my earlier reply its a hardware issue from the connection between motherboard and display.

The display requires replacing.

"If this does not help then in my case the issue was where the connection is between the screen and motherboard failed. As that is a hardware issue then the display needs replacing. "

Ive not seen as many instances reported on the s8 / s8+ / Note 8.

Ive seen quite a few s7 and s7 edge models with this issue.

Hopefully Samsung are taking note and putting some quality checks / testing in place to remedy this known issue.

Verticle green line at the edge or Samsung s7Edge. Before this only 1 line appeared and now its turned 2 line. Maybe after this the number of green line will increase... why this happen?Verticle green line at the edge or Samsung s7Edge. Before this only 1 line appeared and now its turned 2 line. @Maesteoguido

Imo after having the display replacing  on my Samsung Phone and speaking with the Authorised Samsung Service Centre location engineer the issue is where the connection is between the screen and motherboard has failed.
