Hello,

after doing an Android SW update proposed by SAMSUNG, last night, my S8 does not reconigze the PIN CODE for both SIM cards. Does anybody know what to do in this case?

PS : I live in France, I have bought my device from ebay and it came from UK.

Thanks in advance.

Hi @ChicoJonas

A software update should not affect your phones security or its ability to accept your sim card.

What update was it ? Was it awaiting in the software update section of the phone ?

Sometimes if a phone is glitching then a Factory Reset via the settings or a hard reset which is done by a series of button pressess can help.

Be sure to back up in both casesif you can as they can and will delete your information from the phone as it takes it back to the last firmware update.

In regards to the issue you have.

Are you referring to the sim pin that is a Security feature that stops a persons sim card being inserted in any phone.

Or is it the pin code to unlock the phone to use it ?

Hello,

thanks a lot for your answer. Please find below my replies :

Yes, it was a Samsung update that was awating in the SW update section

I'll try it later (how do I do it?)

I'm referring to the sim pin ; I enter the right pin and it returns to me telling that its not the good one. Now it's                    my last chance to enter the right sim pin before blocking it. I'll move them (it's a dual sim) to another phone to                    unlock them safely and try to find a solution.

Thanks a lot, again.

Regards,

Chico

Im not convinced a hard reset will help and remember this process deletes your info on the phone.

However to hard reset.
