Other SmartphonesI have the unlocked version of the Note 8 (UK version), yet it's still on the 1 August 2017 security patches.
Other regions have had the October and now November security updates, yet we're given the third class treatment for a flagship phone.
Older phones like the S6 and S7 are getting their updates sooner as well.
Even network provided phones in the US have the updates rolling out.
What's the point buying expensive phones when they're last in line for anything.
Can Samsung stop treating like like rubbish and get their act sorted out!!

Other SmartphonesHi @Dannygriffo. :robothappy:
We do read everything that's posted here. As much as we'd like to, we're unable to advise you guys of update timescales, though.
Appreciate that it can feel like that you're at the back of a queue and feeling unloved. However, it's not that any region or network/branded/unbranded status takes priority, but that at any given specific instance it might take more work and/or back-and-forth between the various parties to ensure what needs to be done is done, and with the mind towards providing the best update and experience for your specific device. Or, in short: tailoring stuff can take a bit of time and effort.

@Anonymous User @AntS
We can all understand that tailoring stuff can take time, but taking over 4 months is taking tailoring to a new level of meaning.
We're talking flagship £900 phones here, not your run of the mill £100 phone, we're paying for the updates and level of support in the phone cost, so keep that in mind when you decide that over 4 months is a tailoring requirement, considering cheaper and older models are receiving updates sooner.
Thanks,

Other SmartphonesSurely with an unbranded device there shouldnt be a backnand forth between parties?!?! O2 three and vodafone have all had the update in the uk and unbranded have nothing!!! Other countries are now even on december security patch and i am with an unbranded in the uk still on august security patch!! This is a flagship device and should take priority!! There is no excuss for the uk being at the back of the que and even branded versions getting the update before unbranded!! Youve messed up big time with this!!! I wont be getting another samsung phone again!! Atleast apple no how to give out updates!!!!

Other SmartphonesDon't feel bad we all fell for the Samsung marketing juggernaut. They'll rather spend millions on marketing than on hiring software developers to keep their flagship devices updated with security patches. I'm just biding my time until the Microsoft surface phone arrives and I'm gone!!!
