You all already know that the three apps, BOX & Dropbox & Google Drive
offer free cloud storage.

Dropbox 2GB free

Box 10GB free

Google Drive 15GB free

Do what I did, I downloaded all of them on my Samsung.

That's a total of 27GB cloud storage for free.

No need for an sd card if you are worried your phone will be lost or stolen.

Just use those three to store what is important to you.

That's alot of storage.

And it will always be there.

exactly, we are lucky it's still free.

so many people who are new to smartphone do not know what you can get out there for free on Android

I use two of those but even those services are changing their terms and levels of storage. I wouldn't expect the level of free storage from Google to stay at 15GB and nothing stored on the cloud will always be there if they shut the cloud services down like Samsung are doing.

costs hundreds of millions to build these huge storage servers the size of a stadium.
but they get no revenue from it.
, I mean non paid advertising companies like you mentioned Samsung.

exactly, Google are changing how you can upload photos now. High quality images uploaded from the Photos app will now use some of that 15GB. Before this all images were exempt. They also removed all Play Music uploads and shut that down. I transferred my library when prompted last year to YouTube Music but that is streaming only.

I have 20GB free storage because I bought a Moto G back in 2013 when Google still owned Motorola. That gave the additional 5GB

I'm not keen on Google Drive at all.

Either in it's options or the way it syncs with my phone. It's not as seamless as I like which shows when the ` preparing ` message shows in my phone's status bar.

So I at this time prefer not to use it.

I do use Dropbox for automatically uploading taken photo's to it and I Store other bits and bibs there too.

Samsung Cloud for my settings etc.

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁴ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "
