I want to do a factory reset only when I go to do this.  The phone wants me to confirm who I am.  The Samsung account on the phone wants me to confirm it by sending an email to me.  The email they want to send and email to no longer exists.  That means I can't confirm who I am.  I have tried to remove the email address that no longer exists but there's no way to remove or change it.

Hey @julie12345! The Samsung Accounts Team will be able to take a look into this for you, and get the email address changed if possible. You can get in touch with them on 0800 995 1079. 🙂

alternative would be to use the Android service menu you'd also use to wipe the cache partition after an upgrade. the factory reset entry on that menu shouldn't prompt for a Samsung account password as the phone wouldn't start the radio devices required to connect in that state.
