Other SmartphonesI have an annoying message that has recently started popping up on my Galaxy S7. It tells me it's time to update Enhanced Features. I have never seen anything about this before and can't find it anywhere on my phone. I've Googled it and I don't want anything to do with it. How can I get rid of it (if it's on the phone) and stop these messages appearing? (Without having to download another app to do this!).

Other SmartphonesHey @Tis.
You can deregister the features by going to the Registered information of Messages (Enhanced messaging) and Contacts (Profile sharing) on your device. Then, tap the 'More' button and select 'Deregister phone number'. You can also do this here: http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile/enhancedfeatures/deregister.
We hope this helps. If you have any further queries, then please do get in touch with our Support Team on 0330 726 7864 (Monday - Saturday, 09:00 - 18:00).
All the best,
BeccaS

Other SmartphonesHi BeccaS. Nice to see someone from Samsung trying to help - I posted the original question about this. I don't have any of the de-registration options you list on my s7. I went to the de-registration site via your link but when I try to enter my phone number in the box, nothing happens. It is impossible to get it to insert the number in the box. Would love to hear from you on what I can do to get around these problems.

Other SmartphonesHey @Oggy531.
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Can you give the following a go?
Go to Contacts > Tap your own profile > Select the three horizontal dots on the top right hand side of the screen > Tap 'Profile sharing' > Toggle from 'On' to 'Off'.
This should disable the notification from appearing. The feature itself is embedded to the most recent update, so can't be forcibly removed.
Do let me know how you get on, I am around until 5pm. :smileyvery-happy:

Other SmartphonesHey @Tis.
The feature is embedded into the Nougat update, so it can't be forcibly removed.
Have the notifications stopped? Get back to me when you can. :smileyvery-happy:

Other SmartphonesThanks for replying. I tried to do this but there aren't any three dots - or anything else - in my profile so I can't turn off profile sharing. I don't know why I don't have this...I was able to de-register my phone through your link from yesterday, using a different device as I couldn't do it on my phone, so maybe that will stop these annoying messages about updates. I do hope someone can get this whole thing fixed in the next software update?
