Duplicate contacts s8 microsoft exchange

I have multiple entries in my s8 phonebook for each contact. Think they are syncing from microsoft exchange but can not figure out how to stop it. It would take ages to go through all contacts and delete the duplicates as each contact has about 30 entries at the moment

Have you added a particular account into the phone that would hold those contacts your seeing as duplicates. 

The phone has to be syncing them from somewhere.

It seems to have something to do woth microsoft exhange as when i go onto a contacts details under the 'connected via' section, there are just loads of the blue exchange icons. Would have thought there would just be an easy way to merge all duplicates
