cracked screen in s8

Hi folks,

So I just got a new s8 and cracked the screen. It's a small crack at the right hand side just below where the edge function bar comes out. It doesn't appear to have damaged the functionality of the phone at all. I haven't bought insurance. So I'm wondering if there's a good screen protector I can put over it for the time being so the crack doesn't get any worse, just so I can save a bit of money to get it fixed properly. Any advice?

Hi @Lpl

From my own experience on my Samsung Galaxy s8 phone the glass screens pop off due to the adhesive on them just being on the edges.

One of the exceptions is the WhiteDome protector but that is pretty expensive.

On my s8 I use the Official Samsung Film type screen protector that comes in a pack of two.

I bought mine from my local Samsung Experience Store but They are available on eBay / Amazon.

Your Samsung Warranty won't cover accidental damage but you could check Home Contents Insurance and some Banks offer mobile phone cover as a perk of the account.

Excess fee's and T&C's would need to be checked.

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²³ Ultra 512Gb in Phantom Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

Hi @Lpl

Although it is currently unavailable on their website, Samsung have an official Tempered Glass Screen Protector for the Galaxy S8, details of which can be found by checking the following link: https://www.samsung.com/uk/mobile-accessories/qreco-tempered-glass-galaxy-s8/. If you would like to arrange for your phone to be repaired then you can find your nearest, authorised Samsung Support Centre via their Service Locator by selecting 'Mobile Device' and entering your post code: http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/servicelocation/. ^AL
