What happens when you try to copy something ?
When your samsung keyboard launches and you press the multi key on the Lh side of the keyboard next to the space bar and press the clipboard icon is the material you've copied there ?
If not I'd suggest to....

I HATE how most problems end with "do a factory reset"!!
My response is.. I shouldn't have to! And it's such a pain!
If I paid $1k for this phone (Note9) I should have a phone that works.. But I don't.. And it sucks

I'm not very happy if I have to perform a Factory Reset either which is why I say " Very last resort Back-Up and Factory Reset "
But if all else fails it's a well known remedy which fixes most issues if all else fails and is a much better avenue than perhaps having to travel to a Samsung Experience Store or Samsung Service Centre or having to send Off the phone to Samsung.

It can fix SOME issues, but the issues I have had with this phone, it hasn't worked, so it's redundant & irritating.
Especially when Samsung KNOWS there are issues & pretends they don't exist
My back button will randomly rapid fire to the point my phone is inoperable. Samsung recommended a reset (didn't work) then said I could send in the phone (approx 3 weeks in their possession ) and if it couldn't be fixed I could get a refurbished replacement.. Another BS. I had the phone less than 2 weeks when this action started.. Why would i get a used phone as replacement on a new defective phone, with a known issue?? Ugh.

That is a bad experience and something I personally would haven't put up with either !
I'm in the UK and if a phone fails in some way and is owned less than 30 days of initial ownership then Samsung swap it out for a brand new sealed box one.
After that they state it's a repair.
However again in the UK they have one attempt at a repair then they are required to provide a new phone.
I can't speak for Terms and Conditions and Sales of Goods Acts in other countries however.

This is crazy! Some post I can, (the pain in but way have to), but can't on all post that I need to. pay 700 for a phone that WE have to figure out how to use... think I may try Motorola again, I loved my droid. it's like a secret to tell how to use phone and tech support has no clue. Ploy to get us to buy new phone? and its 2019, should NOT be that difficult to c&p. what happened to manuals anyway? I have had this phone for over a year and I know it can do much more. but I don't feel like wasting time on something that I shouldn't have to. then, I wanna send a text to around 30 people but I don't want all to know their phone numbers so guess I won't bother cuz darn if I'm doing one text at a time. sorry for the vent, but Samsung is making me also regret buying our tv, sound bar and who knows what else. (on phone with DirecTV for an hour and they couldn't get it working.) my dh spent 5 minutes and got it working. anyway, Happy New Year! 🎉
