Contacts sort order

I have set the sort order for my contacts to Last name, First name in the Contacts app. However, in the Messages app they appear in the First name, Last name order and there does not appear to be a way to change this. Anyone got any ideas?

I am having the same problem. My Contacts are sorted by Last Name, but my contacts for Messages are sorted by First Name. Very frustrating.

I also have this issue. it is bloody stupid to default contact sort order in the message application spearate to the contacts application.

Samsung - your ideas of what should happen with the contacts sorting in messaging are not helping your clients - they are frustrating your clients.

You (Samsung) need to update either or all apps so that the user-selected, preferred order for sorting and displaying contacts lists in the Contacts app is reflected in the Messaging & Telephone apps and any other app they may lookup the contacts

I have the same problem, contacts are sorted by First Name / Last Name,

but contacts in "messaging app" are sorted by Last Name / First name, and there is no option under messaging to change that.

Same problem here. It's high time to fix this issue.

Programatically, it's a nonsense. Each user has one contact list and it should be used the same way in every application. Actually, I consider this as a bug.

I am coming from an LG v20 to the S9+.  This is running me crazy. Nice phone but this is making me regret not sticking with the LG. Why can't one list be used for both?

Yes same problem, annoying!  Samsung fix this, it should be an easy upgrade!

This matter has been oustanding for sometime. Does anyone from Samsung read this community forum. If so can we please have a response!
