When using smart view to my UE32J5500. I could cast photos/videos from Samsung A5 in full screen.

I now have 2 new TV's one of which UE50TU8500, when I cast to this I get a split screen of tv & photos.

smartview is now obsolete, I have Smart Things, I have tried other apps.

What are other people using & how are they doing it.

Yippee, sorted, You use the TV remote to select TV image or phone.

Select phone it is then full image.

They call this multview.

Must be some kind of issue with your TV. What happens when you put your phone into landscape mode? I personally use a Type C to HDMI adapter for mirroring. No lag then.

makes no difference landscape/portrait. I dont want to be using a cable. I buy a new TV & go backwards with the tech. I think its the Samsung app, tgats why I want to hear from those hat can/cant do it.

You have heard from someone that can do it. I have no problems with smart things to my Samsung TV. I choose to use a cable for a better response as I play games. It's not going backwards. It's logical that anything plugged direct is more responsive. Smart Things is done over WiFi. An Ethernet cable is better than WiFi so I don't understand how you think uts going back in technology.
