I want to downgrade back to Nougat but I can't. I've deregistered from the members app. I've done a factory reset more than once. Nothing works. It just resets but with Oreo on it.

I've connected it to SmartSwitch on my Mac and my phone won't connect. I've tried dozens of times.

Can anyone please tell me how I get it back to stable Nougat?

*I've been using the beta with no problems so far. However, my work is now enforcing a device policy and the beta isn't playing nicely with it. Basically once I set up the work profile the device doesn't let me switch to a different keyboard, saying that it's restricted by admin. Hwoever, I'm the only in my organisation with this issue. Plenty of people have an S8 but I'm the only one running the beta. Everything else in the admin policies is the same. They've even tried whitelisting GBoard, it didn't fix it.

There have been several reports that people are unable to downgrade. The process should be: de-register from the beta and then use SmartSwitch to do a software recovery. This should put you back on Nougat.

Unfortunately, people then find that the handset "upgrades" to the beta again. It would seem that something has gone wrong and there are a few irritated people because of this.

I don't use a Mac, but I've read that there's an issue with the Smart Switch on Macs or rather something changed in the OS.

My phone is very confused.

Originally had the oreo beta , downgraded to get rid and when I updgraded it put my straight back on it again.

Just tried a reset but now the member app thinks I'm on One UI beta. Urgh.

Any advice?
