Other SmartphonesHi, I'm investigating a refurbed Galaxy S7 Edge , but, as the S8 has just come out, I'm wondering if the S7 Edge is going to drop in price in the next month, and whether it's worth holding fire until that happens.
Based on previous pricing patterns with the Galaxy phones, after a new model is released, how long is it before the previous model drops in price?
Thanks!

Other SmartphonesNo matter what time it is in a year there will always be a new phone around the corner and as for price drops they happen as any phone ages if you are looking for the best phone at the moment you will pay the most but if you are happy with the features of last years phone save yourself some money and buy the S7 edge what it comes down to in the end is are you buying for want or need? as want means you buy the best you can at the time where need is about looking at what you do and matching the abilities to what you use it for after all if you just want to check emails / facebook and phone and text then you do not need the S8. BUT having gone from the S7 edge to the S8+ I am going to say the S8 as it is a far better phone (for my suitability) best thing to do is go in to a Samsung shop and experiance each phone and decide for yourself what you are willing to pay.

Other SmartphonesThanks very much for replying so quickly.
I'm really not bothered about 'the latest and greatest', and am more than happy to go with the S7 Edge. I'm currently using a 2-year-old iPhone 6 which is definitely slowing down and I think it's time to recycle it. Although I've been happy with the Apple experience, iPhones are ridiculously expensive, and I don't want to get locked into another 2 year contract to fund it. So now's a good time to sell it and move to Android, so that I've got a decent amount of money towards buying an S7 Edge.
Predominantly I use my phone for the usual stuff - social, web browsing, emails, streaming video, music, and taking pictures.
Can I ask why you find the S8+ a better experience than the S7 Edge?

Other SmartphonesHi again,
For me the main number 1 reason to move was down to the form factor the width of the phone is less and the edge is easier to hold in my hands so it is better to use for longer, 2nd has to be the longer screen as 90% of the time I use it to read articles and forums on the go so seeing more is always handy and I have to do far less scrolling around, 3rd is the iris scanner it is so easy to unlock the phone now even at night, 4th (Will be) Bixby I have vision issue's and with Bixby it will make it easy to do things that I can not always read on the screen when my eyes are bad like send a text message or to ring for a lift. Those are what turned me to the S8+ however I have signed up to the upgrade program with Samsung so every year I get a new phone (Like a lease system) so I pay each month a rental and if frees me up to chose what ever network suits me and my needs and I save around £10 per month compared to being stuck in a carrier contract and have to keep that phone for 2 years. But I would say to you to check out both phones 1st to see what you like.
