No matter what time it is in a year there will always be a new phone around the corner and as for price drops they happen as any phone ages if you are looking for the best phone at the moment you will pay the most but if you are happy with the features of last years phone save yourself some money and buy the S7 edge what it comes down to in the end is are you buying for want or need? as want means you buy the best you can at the time where need is about looking at what you do and matching the abilities to what you use it for after all if you just want to check emails / facebook and phone and text then you do not need the S8. BUT having gone from the S7 edge to the S8+ I am going to say the S8 as it is a far better phone (for my suitability) best thing to do is go in to a Samsung shop and experiance each phone and decide for yourself what you are willing to pay.
