Hi I am going to have to factory reset my device.can any one advise me the best way to do it.I use the Samsung cloud.

But I'm not sure how much is restored.as I have never done this before.

I have a laptop that I don't use that has windows 7

But again not sure how much this backs up.

And in doing a reset, does does it affect your warranty

Thanks

People have their personal preferences.

I do this....

Back up to Samsung iCloud.
Use Dropbox to back up items.
Use Gmail for contacts.

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²² Ultra 256Gb in Phantom Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

I was keeping this for reference as to be honest I am nervous about doing a reset as I have paid apps

And even though one has a restore purchase bar constantly at the bottom but never worked and only part of my data was  restored my all important texts messages were missing

I think a professional data assistant tool is possible, or use a Cloud account to sync the data, and copy the important data on the computer, when you do factory reset, and import the backup files on your Samsung phone.

You can backup and restore Samsung phone data with Kies, but for me, a better method is to backup & restore Samsung data with Assistant for Android, installing it on your PC, you can transfer files selectively to computer for backup, you can also use one-click backup and restore feature to make a full backup of your Samsung.

You may try Samsung back and restore service.

By the way, if you forgot to backup, you may try professional data recovery solution, like this Samsung Galaxy data recovery which helped me last time.

hope this helps.

No doubt that the best way to back up and restore your s7 edge is using Samsung data manager tool. With its help, after connecting Samsung S7 edge to computer via usb cable, start the tool. A short time scanning later, you can back up and restore your s7 edge with one-click.
