battery notification settings in system UI are grayed out! Galaxy S7

What happened? I can no longer change any settings under System UI.

I wanted to be able to get the Low Battery sound notification working again (it stopped for some reason). I find that the setting is grayed out. Battery Charging sound notification is also grayed out.

Is this a bug from the latest update? How do I get these functions working again?

I am having exactly the same issue...i suddenly find my note 8 dead without any low battery warning...i tried to turn it back on but it's greeted out under system ui... can someone help please.
