back up to cloud prior to factory reset j3 2017

had to factory reset j3 . used the back up option on phone which was successful. However , when i tried to restore everything, it would not accept my log in details and prompted me to set up a new samsung acc using google. Of course there was no back up data for the new acc. How can i retreive my data etc for my phone.

Can you clarify where you backed up the data to? Google or Samsung account?? You state "prompted me to set up a new Samsung account using Google" , that doesn't make sense. After a reset you are usually prompted for your Google account. Again, please clarify.
