Original topic:

Always on Display and magnification STILL not compatible, two phones later

I found one thread on this topic from 2017 related to the S7 phone, with a response from Samsung from 2017. I think it's time to revive this topic to try to understand why the company is continuing to have limitations in using popular features if they need to have magnification enabled! Two phones later, from S7 to S9 and this has not been remedied. It's an insult to people with sight issues that they can't have a good feature like "always on display" and everything that can be viewed there. Why, in two phones has this not been fixed? Is the company so unaware of how many people benefit from magnification that they think it's just less important? Seems a bit discriminatory to me. I want the features that I paid for. One of them is important, "always on display".Another is magnification to read especially small text or view images closer that don't enlarge any other way. If you have sight issues, which includes the majority of older users it is unfair. Hope the company will say a fix is in the works. Or if I'm mistaken and it's available now, let me know that as well, and I will be extremely grateful. I think this deserves writing to other media as well, to highlight the issue. Thanks for reading. :smiling-face:

Hey @s9er

I do appreciate you taking the time to write that.

While I'm not aware of a feature that let's you enlarge the display itself, some of the clock styles are larger than others.

I understand that it's a feature that would greatly benefit you and a lot of others, so I'll send your post on to the R&D team.

Myself or another one of the mods will keep you updated.

Hi, Thank you for your quick response. Perhaps I didn't make myself clear. The magnification feature is not compatible with always on display. I do not need magnification on the always on display screen itself. But when you turn on magnification as a feature on the phone, always on display is disabled. You can't use it at all. Hope that makes clear what I was trying to say.

Thanks! The fact that this is an equity issue for people sight impared or most older users, might get someone's attention...

In the meantime, I may look for a magnification app which might allow me to turn "always on display" back on. Anyone know of one that works well in a similar fashion. I use the icon in the bottom corner of the screen to magnify. I don't like the triple tap option as it interferes with a game I play.

We can't give an exact time when the update will be sent through to your phone. But it shouldn't be too long now!
