Software problem

My banking app works for most things except my current account.i have been told update my software Galaxy s8+ as shows version 9 and I need 14..help please as confused

You need a new phone. I'd suggest the s24 series as its the recent one and has 7 years of OS updates so it will last you are while as well.

Your current phone is outdated and won't receive any more updates which puts you at risk specially If you do banking as the banks won't support outdated software.

So time to upgrade.

@joetteblue: The Galaxy S9+ is only compatible up to Android 10, and will not receive further updates beyond this version. All of our recently released Galaxy devices are compatible with Android 14, but I do agree with @GoanGeek in that you should look to 'future proof' your next purchase, which is best achieved by looking at the S23 Series, S24 Series, and the recently unveiled Fold and Flip Series.

I can see you've already been given some advice here.

Deffo look at Samsung website to see what suits your needs etc. They do offer a trade in service, depending on model you purchase, and not all older models will be on the list of acceptable models but keep an eye out for 'Guaranteed Trade In' where they'll accept any phone in any condition for a set price. I think it's normally around £100 but I think it can vary too.

If S series is out of your budget then A series definitely punches above its weight. My wife has A54 5g. It does everything my S24u does but slightly "worse". If my phone wasn't on contract, I'd get A series.

I'm torn between s24ultra and a54 5g.. since the comparison looks not so bad. Price wise!. As long as upgrade to 14 there.

Hi. As I mentioned get the s24 series as it will give you 7 years of OS updates as opposed to the A54 which I believe is 4 years.

So depending on your budget and how long you want to keep your phone you can decide.
