When transferring everything from one Samsung to another with Smart Switch does it transfer all of your WhatsApp chats too or do you have to back that up and reinstall the app from Google Drive?

Backup the WhatsApp chat history to Google Drive. Install WhatsApp on the new phone. Sign in to WhatsApp and then restore chat history from Google drive. You backup and restore the chat history from within WhatsApp.
