Hey yall, i am on a samsung galaxy s9. Whenever i used to get a notification on the samsung messeges app a pop up bubble would show the contacts name and a small preview of the message on my screen and then would go away. I no longer receive that, and when i have my screen off my edge lighting will turn on but still wont show any details. The notification does work fine in the status bar though. I dont know how to fix this, and the settings for the app has a deleted category so i am unsure if that has anything to do with it.

Ignore my last response, the 3rd option you gave worked but i had to set it up as pop up on new messages instead of general. No idea what turned it off but thank you.
Solution) Open the Messages app > Tap the 3 dots in the top right > Settings > Notifications > General notifications > Show as pop-up > On > New Messages > Show as pop-up

@WackyPatty: To troubleshoot the issue, please take a look at the following steps.
1) Settings > Advanced features > Smart pop-up view > On
2) Settings > Display > Edge screen > Edge Panels > On > Edge Lighting > On
3) Open the Messages app > Tap the 3 dots in the top right > Settings > Notifications > General notifications > Show as pop-up > On

I tried all these steps but it still isnt working. The smart pop up view does change it to bring up the contact like a facebook messenger bubble but thats not what my phone used to do. Any other tips?
