The previous Samsung I had. I bought in 2016. I had no issues with it at all. In 2021 I gave my old phone up for an upgrade to S21 Ultra and now in 2024 I'm already having issues. I must say it is very disappointing. I feel they are causing these system errors on purpose so that we keep upgrading phones. The moisture detected error simply won't go away. There is no moisture or debris in my charging port. I have tried everything I can. Nothing has work. The phone only charges when it is completely out of power. I dread the day it stops charging all together.

.It sounds incredibly frustrating to deal with persistent moisture detection errors on your Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. This issue can indeed be exasperating, especially when there’s no actual moisture present. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

### **1. **Clean the Charging Port Again
Even if you've already done this, try cleaning the port with a dry, soft toothbrush or a small piece of lint-free cloth to ensure there's absolutely no debris or moisture.

### **2. **Disable the Moisture Detection in Safe Mode
Sometimes, third-party apps can cause the moisture detection error. Try booting your phone into Safe Mode to see if the error persists:

1. **Press and hold the Power button** until you see the power off icon.
2. **Touch and hold Power off** until the Safe Mode prompt appears.
3. **Tap Safe Mode** and see if the error persists. If it doesn't, a third-party app might be causing the issue.

### **3. **Check for Software Updates
Make sure your phone's software is up to date, as Samsung often releases updates that can fix known issues.

1. **Go to Settings** > **Software update**.
2. **Download and install** any available updates.

### **4. **Clear Cache Partition
Clearing the cache partition can sometimes resolve system errors:

1. **Turn off your phone**.
2. **Press and hold the Volume Up, Bixby (if available), and Power buttons** simultaneously.
3. When the Samsung logo appears, release all buttons.
4. Use the volume buttons to navigate to **Wipe cache partition** and press the Power button to select it.

### **5. **Disable USB Debugging
Sometimes, disabling USB debugging can help clear up charging issues:

1. **Go to Settings** > **Developer options** (if this option isn't visible, you may need to enable it by tapping **Build number** several times in **About phone**).
2. **Toggle off USB debugging**.

### **6. **Try a Different Charger and Cable
Sometimes the problem lies with the charger or cable, even if it appears to work normally. Try using a different charger and cable to see if the issue persists.

### **7. **Use a Wireless Charger
As a temporary workaround, you can use a wireless charger to avoid the charging port issue altogether.

### **8. **Factory Reset**
If nothing else works, consider performing a factory reset. Ensure all your data is backed up before proceeding.

1. **Go to Settings** > **General Management** > **Reset** > **Factory data reset**.
2. **Follow the prompts** to reset your phone.

### **9. **Contact Samsung Support**
If the issue persists, contact Samsung Support. It might be a hardware issue that requires professional repair or replacement.

### **10. **Consumer Protection and Warranty**
Check if your phone is still under warranty or consider reaching out to consumer protection services if you believe the device is faulty by design.

Addressing these steps should help mitigate or solve the moisture detection issue. If your phone still won’t cooperate, it might be time to seek professional repair or consider other options, possibly under warranty.

Toothbrush didn't work for me. I used the pointy end of a plastic flosser. There was loads of black gunge on a chrome plate below the terminals in the charger port. This removed it, and the moisture message.

Well Samsung, YOU HAVE TO disable/remove this useless and terribly annoying moisture detector as
1) it is not working properly
2) this cause huge trouble to your customers
Second week-end trip far from home where I had to deal without mobile phone, because of IRRATIONAL  MOISTURE DETECTION ! I had to switch off the phone to get a bit charge, that is the evidence of malfunction.
