IS THIS FRAUD? Because it feels like fraud.

Definition of fraud:  wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain.

The situation: 

1.  Sent phone in for repair on October 17, 2023.

2. Received an email on November 16, 2023,  stating that it couldn't be repaired and that it would be shipped back to me.  The tracking number provided was FAKE. 

3. Charged $518 on November 17, 2023, for repairs. 

4. I had multiple conversations with many Care reps trying to find out where my phone is and why I was charged for repairs that were not made. Someone will call me about an accommodation. No one could tell me what an accommodation was. No one called me. 

5. November 22, 2023, Samsung decides they are going to do this great favor for me and let me apply that $518 (that they never should have charged me) plus an additional $100+ towards purchasing one of their new phones.  They won't return my phone. 

What kind of UNETHICAL ***** is that!?! This feels very crooked and wrong. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Welcome to Samsung.
Have a look around.
All you will see is fraud and bugs.
All you will hear is bad customer service.
They will charge you more for pre-ordering.
Ask you to return for a refund instead of give a price discount.
Release buggy software.
Kill the community.

(coming from a person that still buys sh**t from samaung)

Their products are great but customer support non existent.

Are you thinking the phone has been lost in transit whole being shipped back to you @OnHold  ?

If so then Samsung would need to take this up with the courier company they used and their relevant insurance. 

Send a message to your particular Samsung Moderator Team to see if they can help.

They maybe able to direct your situation to the relevant department for support.

To add some balance @Specialist more people sign up to forums to vent and share their poor experiences than people who sign up to share their good experiences. 

You will also find threads here from people who have had good service and are happy with their phone , tablet or watch etc.

I know I know.

Never had hardware issues with Samsung usually it's software issues 😂.

But still I think of Samsung highly, whole family are Samsung users here.

To be honest have never had issues with samsung software at all. I have had plenty of issues with apple software. Only problems I have had with samsung is a couple of green tint issues but their screens seems to be spot on now 👍

The issue is samsung uses third party's and this is where it goes wrong it should set up its own repairs, its the same with samsung stores its like they are franchised they need to take control like apple does with repairs and stores

I have so many issues with software specially with their warches (5 pro and 6 classic) both of which didn't track sleep the first 3 weeks I used, and still to dats over nearly a year none of them track deep sleep.

S21 ultra when I first got it, had issues with WhatsApp and other crticial notifications from business apps not showing (despite all the battery optimisations disabled) which all were fixed with an update.

Tint issue I had with my s8 or aas it s9 series 🤔

But overall I'm still with Samsung

Like BandofBrothers above, I noticed that you mentioned paying in dollars. Which country are you based in?

Yea I got to admit the watches are a bit suspect. On the whole my watch 5 pro lte is great, but I have had a couple of bugs on it but the phone has never missed a beat.
