Galaxy S21 Ultra - Battery issues after One UI 6.1 Update - It's horrible. I can barely use my phone. I have done a factory reset and it still is a fast drain on the battery. I have done all the suggesting things like changing resolution, changing screen refresh, etc...

This will be the LAST Samsung I buy.

I found it great on mine. Getting some very impressive SoT, even after playing games.

Hi

Please consider the following if doing a factory reset.

The thing with factory reset is.

1.Back up up everything if you so wish.

2. When restoring don't restore apps and settings rest can be restored.

3. Set up phone as new and install apps as and when you need them .
( the idea being if you had corrupt apps or settings this doing this will eliminate it.)

I personally use Google One ( it's very cheap) to back up my messages , contacts, photos etc.)
So it's easy to recover not matter how many phone I move to or reset.

I hope that clears it for you.

That's what I did. I didn't restore anything, just manually added apps after the factory restore. Still having problems. It's almost unusable.

What about settings?

Also under your settings > manage accounts check for any sync errors

Give it a week to settle after the reset and then post your battery stats along with apps used.

Or you can reset all settings under reset and see if that helps.

I'm having similar issues with my a53. Since the update the phone just won't charge when it's on charge. It'll stop then randomly start again, except my battery drains in the meantime. It wad working perfectly right before the update, and all hardware is good. None of the steps people reccomend help. There's an issue somewhere and I sent my data to samsung. I have very little hope it will get fixed. I can't for the life of me figure out what triggers it to stop charging (it still shows it to be on charge) and then pick it up again. I've got better things to do than wake up to a discharged phone I can't use until it decides to charge. It's 100% the updates fault.

I almost wonder if it's a push by Samsung to get you to buy a newer model. (Kinda like Apple did with their battery life a few years ago)

The one week to settle hasn't done anything. It's still horrible. Again, goodbye Samsung. This will be my last Samsung phone. The GPS has been horrible since I have gotten it and now this issue.
