Whilst an incorrect password prompt would normally be user error ocassionally there can be issues. Is this Samsung or gmail and does resetting sort it out?
if problem may need to remove and re add account. Go to Accounts and Back up-Manage Account-Email-Remove Account. now go to Manage Account again -Add Account-Email. Fill in the required fields.
