Can not hard reset my Samsung S21 Ultra

Hi,

I gave my daughter my old Samsung S21 Ultra and she has reset the password then gone and forgotten it.  So I tried to hard reset it but it does not work.  I even let the battery die and then tried to reset but no luck.  The phone is not set up in developer mode.  I read somewhere that if I remove the battery inside that would reset.  the issue I have with that is that It wont be water proof any longer and in the past I have taking phone apart and replace screen but it so much hassle.  Is there a way to connect to computer and reset through software, or another way. please?  I have searched high and low on the internet and all I get back is hold down the on button and the up volume which does not work for me.

Hi Mike, No I never found a solution in the end I took it to a local phone shop and they charged me £25 to unlock it.  He said he used some sort of software to open it.  Personally I think he new better than I so I just paid him and now my daughter has had her phone up and working and back .   Frankly I spent so long trying to do it that I was relived to pay the money to get it done.  good luck

Well you need the phone to be off and have a PC or laptop and plug the USB in to the PC or laptop and plug it in to your phone then press the volume button up and then press the power button off then it will let you wipe and factory reset the phone I hope this works if anyone needs help I can help just send me a text of this and I will help I've also got a discord account if you need help just ask and I'll add you and help you step buy step

I'm having the same problem on my secondary phone S21 Fe because my son tried to repeat the password incorrectly and I have tried all of the solutions mentioned.

The only one thing that I did not do is plug an actually Samsung cable into the computer before trying to reset it.  The reason was I don't own one.  I just had a slight doubt that when I took it into the shop he may have done that.  I know that Apple can detect a non Apple cable I'm wonder if Samsung do and that was the only reason I could not do it.  Its a bit of a long shot but worth a go.

All other methods did not work. But doing exactly as you wrot DID work! 

Read carefully, the difference is in keeping the volume up and power off buttons pressed together, while having your phone off and connected to the pc, until the reset menu appears.

but what if you can not even turn the phone off??
