News and tips about Samsung products
LIFE Picture Collection is a visual archive of the 20th century. When you see an iconic photograph of a historic event from the last century, chances are it was first published in LIFE magazine. Between 1936 and 2000, LIFE commissioned over 10 million photographs across 120,000 different stories. From wars and world leaders, to protests, parties, cultural icons, and slices of everyday life, the photos in the LIFE Picture Collection are an amazing window onto the recent past.
And now, Samsung Electronics has teamed up with the LIFE Picture Collection to bring a selection of these incredible photos to The Frame , Samsung’s award-winning Lifestyle TV. The Samsung Art Store has carefully chosen 20 photos from the Collection, which are now available to owners of The Frame. If you’re a Samsung Art Store user, you’ll be able to experience history in your own home thanks to stunning LIFE photos, with subjects ranging from West Coast California Surfers to Pablo Picasso, and more.
The Frame: Sweden / Norway / Finland / Denmark
The catalogue of art available on The Frame has expanded immensely since it was first launched back in 2017. This latest collaboration brings a new selection of awe-inspiring historical photographs to the already considerable library of paintings, graphic design, and photos already on the Samsung Art Store. Samsung plans to add more photographs from LIFE’s iconic archive to make even more of the collection accessible to subscribers.
The Frame is designed to be a TV when it’s on and a work of art when it’s off. It is a digital canvas that displays art from all around the world in awesome QLED picture quality. And 2022 models have a Matte Display, which helps to drastically reduce reflections so you can see what’s on screen even more clearly.
Iconic institutions, art collectives, and independent artists have all contributed to the Samsung Art Store’s selection of over 2,000 works of art – a selection that is constantly expanding.
