How to extend the useful battery life on your Samsung smartphone

Samsung Content Creator

Do you usually leave your Samsung smartphone charging over night? In that case, activating the Battery Protect mode on your device might come in handy for you.

Please note: Features and functionalities may vary according to model, country, or service provider. To ensure that your Samsung smartphone has this feature go to Battery and device care in Settings on your device and check for the Protect Battery feature.

Battery Protect mode prevents longer charging times from shortening the battery’s useful life.

By limiting maximum battery charge up to 85% on your device, you may improve the overall lifespan of the battery, instead of reaching a 100% which can shorten its useful life in the long run.

To activate Battery Protect mode follow the steps below:

  1. Head to Settings on your device
  2. Tap Battery and device care
  3. Tap Battery
  4. Then select More battery settings
  5. Tap the switch next to Protect Battery
